A Budget-Friendly Bohemian Relaxation Sanctuary Lands on Beverly Boulevard

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

While there are plenty of R&R retreats not far from LA, bohemian daytrippers can ditch the vacay planning headaches (and money) by checking into one of our city's latest stress-reducing haven. Enter The Now, an incredibly cool and stylish massage parlor inspired by a blogstar-frequented paradise.

After experiencing heart-breaking losses in their families, co-founders Amy Krofchick and Erica Malbon channeled their pain in a positive way and opened the serene studio on Beverly Boulevard, not far from The Grove. Drawing inspiration from Tulum's Coqui Coqui Hotel, the luxurious mind/body/soul-healing space offers an instant boho-modern getaway with cool cacti, globally-inspired decor, minimalist furniture, and more stylish touches.

On the menu, expect a range of treatments for just $35 for 30 minutes and $60 for 60 minutes, with add-ons ($5 to $10) like aromatherapy and the detoxifying power cleanse. Ready for prime relaxation? Walk-ins are welcome; those not living in the now can book a rubdown sesh in advance here.

The Now opens on Wednesdsay, November 4th. Hours will be Tuesday through Sunday from 10am to 10pm. Closed Mondays.
