Following its massive sweat-ready flagship at The Grove, Nike is jumping deep into East LA with its first Community Store in the Golden State. As Eastsider LA reports, the sportswear stalwart officially landed yesterday on Whittier Boulevard (also known as the Latino Walk of Fame).
Dubbed Nike East Los, the 19,000-square-foot store will stock the athletic brand's apparel, footwear, and workout gear, including "East Los"-branded merch for sporting hometown pride. Like its five other Community Stores (located in South Chicago, Washington D.C., and Portland, to name a few), the neighborhood-minded shop has partnered with nearby non-profits and high schools to provide sports training, funding, and more initiatives aimed at empowering LA youth.
