What heat wave? The scorching sun didn't stop a gang of Racked readers from starting their day with a strengthening yoga session last Saturday morning on The Line Hotel's pool deck for our latest Racked Fit Club. Despite the fact that temps shot above 100 degrees, our fearless crew wasn't phased as One Down Dog instructor Caitlin led us through an hour of hip-openers, sun salutations, and as the studio's name suggests, a healthy dose of Down Dogs.
As we gathered in a semi-shaded spot near the hotel's popular brunch destination Commissary—equipped with complimentary spa water—we worked on our balance, lengthened our limbs, honed our yogic breath, and for some of us, simply tried to deal with the fact that we were working out pre-10am on a Saturday (so thankful for Child's Pose). Bubbly Caitlin kept us going, reminding us to smile as we rocked out our backs in a Happy Baby and at long last, took us into a sweet Savasana. Afterwards, there was no stopping some of our readers from making a quick change into their bikinis and cooling off in the nearby pool. Namaste indeed.
All summer long, One Down Dog has been hosting weekend classes at the swanky staycation spot, offering students the unique experience of getting their flow on surrounded by panoramic K-town views, and they're still going at it.
