Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
If your weekend (retail therapy) warrior goals involve scoring a deal or two and shopping locally-made merch, make it a point to hit up the California Market Center this Friday. In addition to hitting up the showroom-filled building's first sample sale of the year, you'll want to make a stop at SoCal Etsy Guild's first handmade marketplace at the DTLA industry hub. (It was previously holding court at Crafted at the Port of LA.)
Taking place from 9am to 3pm, the monthly pop-up bazaar will feature a stellar roster of local designers, artists, and other talented makers hawking handcrafted wares. Expect to find edgy basics and stylish streetwear from Rojas, film-inspired tees and accessories by David Jordan, dainty jewelry by Vi Ling and Charlie and Marcelle, stunning paper floral arrangements by Paper Arboretum, sweet artisanal treats by Les Beaux Chocolats, and much more.
Dig it? All-day parking at the CMC's garage is $9 (enter on Los Angeles or Main Streets); see the latest additions to the free event's roster here.
