Unlike LA's many other shopping stretches, that Melrose-La Cienega triangle is noticeably devoid of standalone sweat gear shops—which may change in the near future, thanks to NY-based label Theory. With Helmut Lang relocating to its installation space in the West Hollywood Design District, we're told that its minimalist-cool void will be filled by Theory's activewear line, Theory+.
Per staff at Helmut Lang, the brand's boutique at Melrose and Robertson is currently undergoing its makeover and is expected to open this April. As far as Theory's standalone shop for its very health goth-approved workout wear (which ranges from $70 to tops, $95 for leggings, and $295 for jackets), staff at that label's Melrose store tells us is may not open this year. Stay tuned for more details.
