Popkiller's Iconic Sunset Location is Closing This Sunday

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Sunset and Gardner must be cursed. In addition to losing swimwear designer Ashley Paige's Warholian factory in 2013 (the corner space still hasn't picked up a new tenant, by the way), the area is about to lose a legendary boutique, which will completely change the stretch's visual landscape.

This Sunday, January 25th, Popkiller's signature pink store is shuttering due to slow sales, the retailer tells us. Everything is currently marked down to 30% off and will remain discounted until they officially pack up. The eclectic shopping destination is currently scouting for a new location, but you can visit its other stores—including that cool Little Tokyo pop-up—in the meantime. Popkiller Sunset will certainly be missed.
