While Rodarte took a cue from the skies for their Star Wars-inspired fall collection, sister designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy tapped into the sea for spring/summer 2015. Reporting from NYC, LA Times fashion critic Booth Moore writes that today's runway show presented "dresses of lace, macrame and net, sequins and shells, hand-painted and in some cases hand-burned so that the models looked like beautiful creatures from the deep." Rounding out the range were denim pieces, like white high-waisted pants tucked into tall lace-up boots and paired with frilly ruffled blouses, which Moore notes is a fitting nod to the LA designers' roots.
