Downtown's sleek and sophisticated shopping options continue to expand. Following the openings of OAK NYC, Alchemy Works, Please Do Not Enter and Cerre, come September 19 the corner of 8th and Main will be graced with AltHouse—a 1,650-square-foot, vintage-inspired boutique filled with more than 35 curated womenswear and accessories labels. Eclectic talent in the mix includes Suno, Alasdai, Rodebjer and AltHouse's in-house line, ALT.
"I am from Los Angeles and have lived here my whole life," explains founder Jennifer AltHouse. "When choosing where I wanted to open my store, I knew I wanted to be in an area which was still innovatively changing, while retaining the city's historical charm. It was Downtown that pulled these two qualities together, with buildings dating back to the 1920s, paired next to walls of graffiti and industrial art movements. It was this classic California beauty met with edge and unrefined lines, which gave me the inspiration to build a world for my customers to visit."
AltHouse will be open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 7pm and Saturday from 11am to 8pm.
