Statement Rings, Bangles, More: Inside Alexis Bittar's DTLA Sale

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Los Angeles asked, Alexis Bittar answered. Accoutrement aficionados will be very, very happy at at the edgy jeweler's first West Coast sample sale, which kicked off at 11am today. We swung by the arm party pleaser's sale at the Cooper Design Space in Mezzanine 4 (it'll hold court there until Saturday) and discovered delightful deals on the designer's statement-making pieces, with most items priced under $200.

Upon arrival, you'll be asked to check your bags at the door. There are two cash registers and cash/credit are accepted; note that tax will be added and all sales are final. We spotted an abundance of merch from past seasons, including Bittar's Imperial Noir and Phoenix collections from as far back as 2010. As far as pricing, rings are about $49 to $99, bracelets (including lucite bangles, gem-encrusted hinged pieces and more) and necklaces are mostly $49 to $159, and earrings are $49 to $79. Staff also tells us that inventory will be restocked but items won't be organized by size.
