Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Slowly but surely, we're crossing off the stores on our highly-anticipated fall shopping list. Next up is the vegan-friendly LA flagship of Moo Shoes, which tells us their Silver Lake boutique (not far from Dream Collective and Clare Vivier) is slated to open next Saturday, October 4th.
Founded by New York-based sisters Erica and Sara Kubersky, the cruelty-free footwear retailer's West Coast shop will be helmed by husband-and-wife creative duo (and new LA transplants!) Katie Frichtel and Troy Farmer. They tell us the 750-square-foot space will feature custom shelving, a bright cyan chalkboard wall, and custom-printed wallpaper "that celebrates animals and awesomeness." In addition to non-leather steppers from Novacas, Cri de Coeur, Vegetarian Shoes and LA's own MOVMT, the shop will stock a curated selection of accessories, like Matt & Nat bags, Vautre Couture hats, and more.
Want to join Moo's team? The shop's currently hiring qualified animal lovers; shoot your resume and cover letter to neysha@mooshoes.com.
