Altuzarra x Target: Slow Start, Blazers & Boots in High Demand

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This morning at 8am, the Altuzarra x Target collab officially lands in stores. Below, Racked LA associate editor Danielle Directo-Meston reports live from the #Altuzarrampage at Target West Hollywood.

8am: We're in. Only 12 people were in line 15 minutes before opening.
8:10am: Staff tells us that there is a 14-day return policy for this collab. No more than two items can be purchased per style.
8:15am: Staff also says all merch and sizing is out on the floor and that inventory will not be replenished.

8:16am: The red velvet blazer and tuxedo pants were the first to go, along with the orchid maxi dresses. Smaller sizes were also the first to get grabbed. In general, shoppers are being pretty civil.
8:18am: Shoppers also made a beeline for the knee-high boots; there are now just sizes 6, 6/12 and 7 left. Belts went quick, too. (Ed note: The belts are sold-out on Net-a-Porter too, so if you were lucky enough to scoop one up, we suggest holding onto it tight.)
8:20am: There's also plenty of the red boho dress, most of the snakeskin print items, the orchid sweater and the striped blue button-down shirts.
8:30am: Staff is top-notch and super helpful, pulling sizes for shoppers who are trying on items from the sidelines.
8:43am: People are also offering up yays or nays to their fellow shoppers who are on the fence on some pieces.
8:50am: And I'm out!
