Levi's Rolls Out A Bike-Friendly Creative Space in Downtown

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Now that you've scored a stylish two-wheeler, you'll need to know how to keep your gears in top-notch shape. Temporarily joining Nudie Jeans' soon-to-open selvedge denim shop is Levi's, which has been making decidedly more cyclist-friendly merch since launching their commuter collection a few years back. Though the line is sized for men at the moment (ladies sizes soon, let's hope?), all are welcome at the jeanswear brand's Commuter Workspace, a neighborhood hangout and bike tune-up shop that's holding court in the Historic Core now through August 29.

Decked out with a denim distressing and tailoring bar, the shoppable pop-up also offers free wifi, a bicycle repair space, bike valet, hands-on workshops and more community events led by Just Ride LA and bike advocacy group LA County Bicycle Coalition. In addition to stocking Levi's merch, the creative spot is also serving caffeine courtesy of Bicycle Coffee.

Into it? Check out the full lineup of panels and haps—including a group ride with LACBC to our city's famous concrete-lined river this Saturday—right here.

Levi's Commuter Workspace is open Monday through Thursday from 10am to 7pm, Friday from 10am to 9pm and Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 8pm.
