Back in February, we revealed Urban Outfitters' grand relocation plan for their Westwood Village store: a huge his-and-hers concept shop that's expected to become the hipster megachain's third-largest U.S. store. Originally expected to debut this fall, we've gotten word that the new and improved space has bumped up its opening date to next Thursday, August 7. Yes!
Per a release, the 10,600-square-foot store (not 16,556 square feet as originally reported) will house expanded denim, footwear and music shop-in-shops in the men's department. In addition, the gent's side will also carry "lifestyle essentials including an 800+ title vinyl shop and a book shop." Next door, shoppers will find women's apparel and shoes, beauty merch and home goods. In a word, expect it to be just as magical as Malibu and DTLA.
As mentioned previously, UO UCLA 2.0 was slated to offer a walk-up window for ordering on-the-go bites; sadly, the retailer tells us they've decided to scrap those plans.
We know that Urban Outfitters loves a good party, so it's no surprise that the trendy retailer's sending off its old space with a grand farewell bash. On Thursday, August 21, head over to UO's now vacated store at 1100 Westwood Blvd for live tunes by Canadian punk outfit White Lung as part of their new UO Live series.
