Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
If—unlike Dov Charney—you still care about the Made-in-America movement, then this is the festival for you. Next month, purveyors of fake proms, epic sales and cool pop-ups Unique LA will take over DTLA's California Market Center to produce their annual LA Summer Market. This year's event will host more than 350 vendors showcasing USA-designed goods.
In addition to offering "the largest Made-in-America shopping event in the country," as the site claims (see the roster here), the two-day event (going down August 9 and 10 from 11am to 6pm) will feature drinks, snacks, DIY crafting, photo booth fun and more. Tickets are $10 and available at the door.
