Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
This next piece of news is brought to us by the letter 'A'. Just before closing their Robertson shop, American Apparel quietly shuttered their Old Town Pasadena store. The controversial LA brand's (and sorta Dov Charney employer) colorful basics have been swapped out with the Racked Fit Club-friendly fitness apparel of Athleta, which wasted no time and sweat in snapping up AA's vacated space next door to Apple.
Open as of late May, the roughly 5,500-square-foot boutique stocks the Gap-owned activewear retailer's stylish workout clothing, swimwear and accessories (which is conveniently also on sale right now). In addition to offering their editor-faved leggings, the location also hosts free weekly workouts, including Pilates, kickboxing and Racked pal BUTI's unique tribal dance/sexy yoga moves.
Athleta Pasadena is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 8pm and Sunday from 11am to 7pm.
