Luxe Leather Label TONI Crafts Colorful Carryall Essentials

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Along with breeding label-obsessed bag ladies, the City of Angels' perfectly sunny conditions also seem to cultivate cool carryall creators (Clare Vivier, Simone Harouche, Marie Turnor, the list goes on) to keep LA's closets happy. Joining that list is up-and-coming designer Toni Truong, a former Texas-based energy trader who ditched her not-so-electrifying job to chase her dreams in design. Her leap of faith resulted in TONI, a new LA-based label of luxe leather handbags, accessories and more.

Inspired by "the philosophy of wabi-sabi as a lifestyle and design aesthetic," the line ($89 to $364) is comprised of colorful classics like fanny packs, tote bags, clutches, crossbodies and more. Even better: the brand sources all materials locally and crafts the merch right in Downtown. Check out more of the brand's goods after the jump and snap them up online here. (If you're feeling up for it, learn to make your own leather wonders from the designer herself at her upcoming workshop.)
