LA's breakout design star search is back. After thrusting last year's Open Runway winner Rose La Grua from the local spotlight to the international stage at Japan Fashion Week, the Los Angeles Fashion Council's emerging designer showcase returns for its second season, which kicks off this Saturday at the W Hotel Westwood.
This weekend's lineup includes Dream Life (Cali boho clothing by Jolene Danielson), Hiccup Clothing (sustainable avant-garde style by Rebecca E. Ross), L'Enfant Terrible (luxe grunge garments by Halley Davis) and Rochelle Carino (flirty-meets-edgy pieces). In addition to featuring the four designers' collections by the W's swanky pool, the event will also include a pop-up shop filled with merch by LA labels like Linden, Bri Seeley and more LAFC faves.
Like last time, the monthly series (June 28, July 26 and August 30) challenges LA-based designers to produce six to twelve looks in just two weeks. The winners of all three rounds will compete head-to-head at the grande finale on September 27 for a chance to show in LAFW this fall. Apply to join the competition here or save your seat at this Saturday's show and RSVP for the free event on Facebook here.
