Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
DTLA is quickly becoming the spot for avant-garde fashion and design. In addition to scoring outré destinations like Austere, OAK, Please Do Not Enter and Cerre, the busy eastside nabe has just landed fruitmilk's first pop-up shop. The "surreal high-design" online gallery is temporarily settled inside BOLD Room at 958 South Broadway.
Aiming to "construct a curated shopping adventure through [a] sculptural approach to display and merchandising," the fruitmilk @ BOLD room retail/gallery hybrid features a unique, shoppable mix of local and global talent. Highlights include Argentina designer Vanesa Krongold (above), local designers Rose La Grua and Keyla Marquez, and local artists Ben Medansky and Chris Hanke.
fruitmilk @ BOLD room is open now through 29; store hours are Monday through Sunday from 11am to 6pm.
