Is it just us, or are those continuously rising temps inspiring swimwear brands to set up shop in scorching SoCal? For those of us not blessed with VS Angel-like genetics (and the will to stay on your sweat session sched), swimsuit shopping is akin to getting a root canal, only with more fitting rooms involved. Malia Mills, who knows a thing or two about mixing and matching bikinis and bottoms for all shapes and sizes, is making another splash in LA with the opening of her second LA boutique at Rehab Vintage's former 3,400-square-foot space on Beverly Boulevard this month, not far from fellow East Coaster Oak's second City of Angels store.
Known for her one-size-does-not-fit-all approach to swimwear, the NYC-based designer tells us she's been eyeing LA nabes for her second shop "for several years […] We wanted to open east of the 405 to make it easier for our gals who don't live near our Westside location," she tells us. (So thoughtful!) "We found an old school LA building with high ceilings, cement floors and a fab landlord. We're between Andante Coffee Roasters and Sweet Rose Creamery—does it get any better than that?" Stay tuned for more!
