If you're looking to treat your mama to some serious bling this Mother's Day, pay a visit to August. Located in Arp's former space at 8311 1/2 West 3rd Street, the specialty jewelry boutique soft-opened this past weekend, displaying an array of modern and organic fine jewelry atop storeowner Bill Hermsen's custom-made white oak and bronze cabinetry. It's all very fancy.
On the merch tip, August carries luxe accoutrements from a host of unique designers, include Ted Muehling, Gabriella Kiss, Lola Brook, Maria Beaulieu, Rosanne Pugliese, Nicole Landaw, Isabel Borland and Lisa Ziff. (Prices range from $140 to $20,000.) There's also an assortment of porcelain by Nymphenburg, the German porcelain manufacturing company dating back to the 1700s, as well as silver and gold leaf mirrors designed by Maureen Fullam.
