Cali and the French Mediterranean have much in common: beautiful beaches, perfect subtropical temps and pretty people who need sun-ready gear to soak up both. It makes sense, then, that St. Tropez-based luxury label Scalise would select the West Coast for its U.S. debut, which follows fellow French prepsters Vilebrequin's recent openings. Last month, the preppy swimwear brand quietly opened its first LA boutique in Monika Chiang's former space on Robertson Boulevard.
Located right next door to Aussie swim shop Zimmermann, the 1,300-square-foot space mirrors the Riviera vibes of Scalise's European stores with natural wood, nautical accents and beach-inspired fixtures. As far as merch goes, the shop offers summer-ready men's, women's and kid's swimwear and apparel ($90 to $175), plus these floral swimsuits available exclusively at select locations. In winter, expect to find outerwear like jackets and cashmere ($245 to $375).
Scalise is open Monday through Saturday from 11am to 7pm and Sunday from 12pm to 6pm.
