As if LA didn't have enough creative carb-burning options, this latest addition to our sweat scene is committed to taking the "work" out of "workout." Founded by celeb trainer and nutrition expert Scott Malin, Gameplay Fitness offers hour-long classes inspired by classic childhood games: think schoolyard sweat-inducers like dodgeball and tug-of-war, to name a few, but with a serious calorie-crunching twist.
Held at Lions Taekwondo Academy in Sherman Oaks, Gameplay's sessions are offered in two levels and boast a music-fueled team atmosphere. "As adults living in a fast-paced and high-stress society, we have forgotten about how much fun playing is and how crucial it is to make time to play as adults," Malin tells us. "Studies show that playtime is great for our bodies and our minds and that when we participate in team activities where we are cheered on, we try harder." Count us in.
Into it? Single seshes are just $20 and five-class packages are $95 (more discounted packages available); check out the full sched here and buy classes here.
