Last fall, we revealed that cult cool brands Theory and installation-loving Helmut Lang were joining forces for a huge new retail development called Brentwood Place, expected to open this spring. Given that we're already diving into summer's temps, we did a quick drive-by to check up on the state of things and discovered a massive steel structure had emerged around the corner from recently goop-ified Brentwood Country Mart—and not much else.
Turns out, the project is running fashionably late; the 9,500-square-foot space's promising plywood states the opening is now slated for this fall. (The shopping hub took over the plot formerly occupied by beautifying duo/bridal primpers Make Up and Go! and Bubble Blow Dry.) Let's hope ample parking is in the works too, lest shoppers try their luck with the Country Mart's hawk-eyed security. Stay tuned for more!
