The wait is over! Tomorrow, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will finally open the doors to The Row's first-ever boutique, located at 8440 Melrose Place. The twin moguls gave WWD a very detailed rundown of the 3,800-square-foot flagship's decor—a "hidden gem" that mirrors a "quintessential modern California pad."
Backed by a dream team that includes celebrity interior designer Courtney Applebaum and Isabel Marant LA architect David Montalba, the West Coast-inspired space is peppered with for-sale furniture from Racked favorites including Galerie Half, JF Chen, Blackman Cruz and Thomas Hayes Gallery. There's also art hanging in the east and west "galleries," as the girl calls them, and a curation of jewelry and desktop items from the Olsens' personal archive. There's clothing, too, but Ashley explains that "it was about setting [the shop] up like a home and just having the apparel be a part of the space."
Check out The Row LA, which also boasts the above courtyard pool, tomorrow. Don't expect any opening festivities, though. "It was important to us to open up our doors quietly," Ashley adds. "We're not going to have a party or anything; we want to make sure it's set up properly, merchandised properly, that things are working."
