Although Rick Caruso claims that he won't be running for mayor anytime soon, it's clear that the real estate honcho is obsessed with building a better LA. Over the last few years the self-proclaimed "life-long Angeleno" has taken on a host of pricey endeavors to enrich our city, from making his outdoor shopping mall The Grove a must-stop destination to breathing new life into Glendale's retail scene. After recently revealing that he's currently working on jazzing up Pacific Palisades' downtown district, Caruso spills that he also has big plans for Brentwood.
Apparel News reports that his company Caruso Affiliated has "acquired three properties on the south side of the 11900 block of San Vicente Boulevard and is looking at additional properties." While Caruso has yet to share which retailers are on his radar for the affluent city where he and his family resides, he does explain that he wants to "take the lifestyle concept beyond the mall," so don't expect a Grove 2.0.
Instead of assuming the retail needs of Brentwood, Caruso is calling on the community to see what they want. It's your turn to speak up: which shops/services would you like to see in the nabe that can't be found at the Brentwood Country Mart?
