Shop and Grub at SFV's First Night Market in Studio City in May

From Downtown Flea to Melrose Trading Post's weekly outposts at Fairfax High and Taft Charter High, it's clear LA loves outdoor retail therapy experiences, and we owe a few of them to Phillip Dane, the man who's brought the SFV several other Etsy-like, artisanal goods-filled bazaars like Woodman Avenue and Topanga Canyon Markets. Valley folks have scored yet another ace shopping and grubbing option courtesy of the LA events organizer, this time at Studio City's recently revamped Sportsmen's Lodge, which will host the first installment of its spring and summer Night Market next month.

Beginning Thursday, May 1, the free event takes place the first Thursday of every month now through October and will feature 50 vendors and 10 food trucks, plus a four-hour happy hour at the staycation-worthy hotel's pool bar. Expect to find a range of local and handmade merch, including charming giftables from traveling bus boutique Treehaus, stylish accoutrements from Sharon Kaplan, apparel by designer Miguel Torres, upcycled clothing from Taxi CDC, cool eco-friendly specs from Sire's Eyewear, edgy recycled accessories by Goat and Kettle, stylish wood furniture by Against the Grain, colorful succulents by Rt Creations and tons more at the evening affair. Once the sun sets, a live DJ will be supplying a soundtrack of eclectic beats for shoppers and foodies.

In addition to offering dinner specials at its New Patio Café, the hotel's giving a 20% discount on one-night Thursday stays when you use code "MARKET" during online booking.
