Bottega Veneta isn't the only Italian brand giving its South Coast Plaza boutique a major facelift. Two years after Valentino introduced its new design concept at its relocated Rodeo Drive flagship, the luxury fashion house has finally revealed their massively renovated 2,300-square-foot store at the upscale OC shopping center.
Open as of this Tuesday, the brand's huge new palazzo-style boutique offers a stylishly modern experience in ancient Roman architecture. Boasting an array of luxe materials—grey Venetian terrazzo tile, black and white marble, wool and silk carpeting, leather accents and chandeliers made from optical lenses, no less—the Sir David Chipperfield-designed space features separate rooms, each housing different aspects of the label's ready-to-wear, footwear and handbag collections.
Valentino South Coast Plaza is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 9pm, Saturday from 10am to 8pm to Sunday 11am to 6:30pm.
Update: An earlier version of this story erroneously reported that the Rodeo Drive boutique reopened three years ago. Also, the brand tells us the store opened Tuesday, April 15; it was previously stated that the boutique was slated to open Sunday, April 27. An image of the South Coast Plaza boutique was unavailable at press time; the story has been updated with the above photo.
