While pop-up bazaars like Parachute Market and this Saturday's Eastside Handmade round up our city's top-notch designers in the DIY scene for one day of retail therapy, modern furniture megachain West Elm is peddling the wares of local makers on the regular. No stranger to hosting Etsy stars, the home furnishings retailer has launched their new West Elm Local shop-in-shop at their massive Beverly Boulevard store, which will feature a rotating lineup of handmade art, decor, home goods, jewelry and accessories made by local talents.
This season's curated collection includes stylish textiles from designer/Echo Park Craft Fair creator Rachel Craven, handcrafted jewelry from Kyyote, luxe leather clutches and carryalls from bag makers Morgan Parish and Bubo Baggins, plus nine more top-notch Cali artisans. Check out the full lineup of the participating designers here and score a chance to meet each maker at West Elm's launch party tomorrow evening.
The retailer's also welcoming local crafters to apply for next season's roster; email West Elm at WELocal@wsgc.com if you're interested.
