From trippy light shows at AuraYoga and AuraCycle to Amazonian-inspired workouts at BUTIK Studio to muscle building on a machine called the Megareformer, it's clear LA fitness fiends love adding some creativity and color into their sweat routines. Fast-expanding gym chain Orangetheory Fitness is finally bringing Angelenos its intense body-sculpting interval workouts, which promise to crush 500 to 1,000 calories during their hour-long classes. Their first LA location is opening in Brentwood next month, and local franchise owner Paul Marcus tells us he plans to open five more studios in SoCal over the next year.
Incorporating treadmills, TRX, WaterRower machines and medicine balls (exhausted yet?), the high-energy sweat seshes also use heart rate monitors to track each individual's stats on a flat screen. While the play-by-play board will certainly spark some friendly competition, don't worry if your numbers don't compare to your neighbors—Marcus says the classes "cater to people of all fitness levels," and instructors ensure each individual is "in their ideal fat burning zone."
Dig it? Orangetheory's offering special pre-sale pricing to members who join before the studio opens May 1.
In addition to offering new members two free weeks of workouts, the studio is also offering their founders rates for those who sign up before May 1, making the average cost $12 to $15 per class. On top of that, the studio never charges initiation fees and has ditched the traditional contract route, meaning members can cancel any time.
Sign up for the free two-week trial and score the special pre-sale rates by calling the Brentwood studio directly at (310) 694-5656, emailing Jonathan at jalbrecht@orangetheoryla.com or stopping by the location at 11661 San Vicente Boulevard.
