LA furniture favorite Modernica has found prime real estate in Elysian Valley's former Hostess Brands bakery plant. Eastsider LA reports that the mid-century decor company will move its DTLA prop rental business into this new location and will also open a diner with Good Eggs, "where you can get a cup of coffee and fried eggs in the morning [...] but with some vegan options as well."
Founders/brothers Frank and Jay Novak explain that "what happens here will reflect Silver Lake, Atwater Village and the current essence that is Frogtown [aka Elysian Valley]." We're guessing this means an art-infused community vibe that will contribute to the area's slow and steady gentrification.
