Let us all shed a tear for beloved discount chain Loehmann's, which forever locked the doors to all 39 U.S. stores yesterday. The 92-year-old retailer endured a couple rounds of closures over the last few years and amassed $100 million in debt before deciding to throw in the towel for good last December. Eulogies for the off-price retailer are pouring in across the Internet, including from our sister site in NYC and the folks at Refinery29, while Racked LA readers recount fond memories of prom dress bargains and encounters with Mrs. Loehmann herself at the O.G. Bronx store. Indeed, 'tis the end of an era—which brings us to the next question: Who's taking over those very vacant spaces in Reseda and at the Beverly Center? Only a loose dotted line will tell. Tipsters, tip away! [Loehmann's; Previously; Previously]
