When we last checked up on Westfield Fashion Square, it was in the midst of a much-needed makeover. Well, the first phase of its curb appeal upgrade has had a chance to sink in, with swanky new tiling and stylish R&R seating areas greeting Valley shoppers since November. Now, onto phase two: We're happy to report that the Sherman Oaks shopping center is scoring a massive H&M (do they do anything but big?), set to open late this summer.
The fast fashion retailer is setting up shop on level two next to Bloomingdale's, taking out trendy clothing store Cebu out in one fell swoop. That's not all: Gap-owned workout wear brand Athleta is also moving into the second floor next to Lady Foot Locker over in the Macy's wing and opening March 6th. All these directory upgrades have been a long time coming for the outdated mall, which added Kiehl's, Free People, Lorna Jane and several other stores and eateries to its roster over the last two years.
Still to come is the sorely dated exterior's fashionable facelift, which as one reminiscing reader notes is "more 'Miami Vice' than Mad Men'." In any case, welcome to 2014, Fashion Square.
