Just a few days after revealing that he's finally closed escrow, Caruso Affiliated founder and CEO Rick Caruso has just unveiled his master plans for Palisades Village. As promised, the sleepy, westside stretch along Swarthmore Avenue will be transformed into a retail/restaurant powerhouse of Grove-ish proportions.
Our sister site Curbed LA has the scoop on the mindblowing project, noting that the plan is to "reduce car traffic from two lanes to one lane" while adding a movie theatre in a replica of the 1948 Bay Theater and offering a range of "independent specialty shops" and "renowned luxury tenants" (ooh!).
There will also by a fancy grocery store, a community room, outdoor dining options, and—our favorite—an underground parking garage. Palisades Village 2.0 is expected to be completed by late 2017.
