New Year's Eve Hit List: Six Places to Party Like It's 2015

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Rather than overwhelm you with an intense list of activities like last year, this time around we're zeroing in on the crème de la crème of stylish New Year's Eve ragers, so you can get maximum mileage out of that hot holiday dress. Since many of the festivities are happening in DTLA, we predict parking will be a shitshow out there, so call a car, get a very nice friend to drop you off, or take the metro. And drink responsibly, you party animal. Now, to the list!

What: Rhondapolis
Where: The Standard, Downtown LA (550 South Flower Street, 90069)
Cost: $69-$199
Why: Just like last year, this is going to be the party to hit. The good folks at Standard DTLA have somehow allowed the party masters over at Rhonda International to take over the entire hotel, offering 13 floors and four stages of delightful debauchery for the masses. Hot Chip, Moon Boots, Peanut Butter Wolf, Martyn, and more. [Flyer via]

What: Grand Park's New Years Eve
Where: Grand Park (210 North Grand Avenue, 90012)
Cost: Free!
Why: Besides being totally free, this family-friendly event is sure to be visually awesome. Festivities will be sprawled across City Hall (3D video mapping on two sides of the building), the LA County Hall of Record Building (the best #LAStory Instagrams will be projected), and three music stages. Our sister site Curbed LA has a thorough guide to the night here. One bummer factor: there's no booze allowed. [Flyer via]

What: Let's Party NYE
Where: The Legendary Park Plaza (607 S Park View Street, 90057)
Cost: $125-$175
Why: KCRW, AOK and IAMSOUND are bringing three stages' worth of serious beats to this iconic location. In addition to an open bar, partygoers will be treated to music by Blood Orange, Classixx, and much more. [Flyer via]

What: Bar Marmont New Year's Eve 2015
Where: Bar Marmont (8171 W Sunset Boulevard, 90046)
Cost: $50-$1200
Why: When is Chateau Marmont not an incredibly chic option? Hosted by NYC nightlife star, the "Legendary" Damon Peruzzi, the night promises a four-hour premium open bar (8pm-12am), a three-course pre-fixe dinner, and live DJ performances by The Gent and Sean Patrick. [Flyer via]

What: Prohibition NYE
Where: Union Station (800 North Alameda Street, 90015)
Cost: $99-$6500
Why: If you're looking for a reason to really dress up, the fete is always a good time, offering a blast from the past via an always-inspiring Roaring Twenties theme. The fun starts at 9am and will feature an open bar, an oyster bar, live jazz, and a set by cool-girl DJ duo POSSO. [Flyer via]

What: Banks
Where: The Observatory OC (3503 S Harbor Boulevard, Santa Ana)
Cost: $75-$175
Why: Heading to Orange County? LA-based singer and fashion darling Banks is set to perform at The Observatory, which is the perfect plan for anyone looking to just chill and listen to some really good music. [Image via]
