If you're a fan of quickie workouts and machine-powered sweat seshes, meet Rise Nation, LA's first-ever climbing conditioning studio and the latest addition to West Hollywood's very buzzing corner of Melrose Avenue and La Cienega Boulevard. Open as of this month, the Melrose District fitness studio is a few doors away from new designer children's boutique Posh Kids.
Founded by celebrity trainer Jason Walsh, the 3,000-square-foot studio offers a 30-minute full-body workout incorporating yoga, floor training, and the VersaClimber, an upright cardio machine that "minimizes impact on bones and joints, lowering the risk of bodily stress and injury that is sometimes seen in other group-based training." (We hear Twilight star Ashley Greene digs it.)
In addition, the space includes an 850-square-foot patio for socializing and cool-down time, Walsh tells us.
"I wanted to finally offer the public a chance to train like I train my clients at Rise Movement, a private one-on-one training studio in West Hollywood," Walsh adds. "The cross crawl climbing motion is a primitive movement innate to us all and this class utilizes that movement. This is important because it reinforces correct movement and muscle balance, and it give you an incredible workout."
Into it? Single classes are $26 and a five-class package is $125; check out the sched here and buy classes here.
