The fairytale behind Venice Beach-based gypset label Show Me Your Mumu began when BFFs Cammy Hebert and Cologne Schmidt escaped to Miami for a wild summer weekend back in 2009. Frustrated with their ill-fitting vacay wardrobes, the girls were determined to reinvent the traditional Hawaiian dress.

After perfecting their effortless and versatile Mumu, the bohemian babes expanded into a full range of breezy pieces that include billowy blouses, bell sleeve dresses, and groovy bell bottom pants. And we're not the only ones who are fans. Celebs like Alessandra Ambrosio, Jessica Alba, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Beyonce also dig Show Me Your Mumu's boho vibes. Below, find out where the designers go for inspo, how they layer for LA's winter, and which Venice haunts are their faves.

Describe the Mumu girl.
We design our creations for girls who love to live life and want to do so comfortably. We cater to a wide array of people from the knockouts to the knocked up to the not legal. We don't want to limit our customer with age, body, or geographical constraints and aim to make Mumu work for all types of people. The Mumu girl wants to be part of the mumu lifestyle, which is all about positivity, adventure, and fun.

Where do you go in LA for inspiration?
We are lucky to live in such a vibrant and adventurous city where inspiration can be drawn from the many different places and people. To name a few: the Rose Bowl Flea Market, Abbot Kinney street style, design elements from local hotels like The Viceroy and The Bungalow at the Fairmont, and the vibrant colors at the weekly local farmers markets. To say it simply, we are easily inspired here at Mumu and fortunate to live in a melting pot of cultures, style, and crazy ideas that feed our untamed bohemia of prints and styles.

What are your tips for dressing for LA's warm "winter"?
The key to LA winter is making your spring/summer clothes just a bit warmer with strategic layering. The Mumu tunics we wear in summer easily translate to LA winter when thrown over bell bottom jeans and topped with a leather jacket. Splurge on staple items that step up your wardrobe. Invest in an awesome leather jacket, quality boots, and a few solid scarves. This will ensure a completely transitional LA wardrobe between seasons.
