Love him or hate him, we kind of have to hand it to supermall developer Rick Caruso for being a true retail mastermind. In addition to steering Angelenos away from the competition with free Uber rides to The Grove and Americana at Brand, the DTLA-eyeing real estate mogul's two retail properties are now offering free portable tech chargers to guests.
Partnering with Duracell Powermat, Caruso Affiliated's new service allows shoppers to borrow pocket-sized mobile chargers for free from Concierge Services. The devices come equipped with Apple Lightning and micro USB connectors and will charge devices at the same speed as wall outlets. Because what LA really wants for Christmas is to shop and snap selfies simultaneously without running out of juice, although we'll take that potentially traffic-reducing Fairfax trolley, too.
