If you're looking to cleanse both your wardrobe and conscience this holiday season, consider this a sign. Throughout the entire month of November, stylish shopping stretch West 3rd Street has teamed up with Downtown's Women Center—an organization dedicated to helping the homeless and very low income women of LA—to set up a donation system at select stores.
At Alexis Bittar, Entre Nous, Jane of Tarzana, Plastica Shop, Polkadots and Moonbeams, and Show Pony, bring in your gently used clothing and score 20% off a new purchase. Over at essential shop Beckley Boutique, they're hosting a Denim Drive, so drop off your pre-loved jeans and earn 20% off any fall 2014 style. (Bedhead Pajamas is running the same deal, too.) What's more, Beckley will also be bringing in donated merch from the likes of Citizens of Humanity, Closed Denim, and Nation LTD.
Additional participating stores include Mom's The Word (give jewelry, get 20% off), Knit Culture Studio (bring your tangle-free "stash" yarn in a sealed ziplock bag, score 15% off select yarns), and Shopaholic Sample Sales (drop off cold-weather clothes, nab 20% off). Learn more about the initiative here and start gathering your giveaways.
