Mollusk Surf Shop's second SoCal outpost may be a trek from the beach (at least by LA measures), but its indie Cali-cool vibes make it right at home in Silver Lake. Though the boutique has been open as of late August, it's quickly become a hip hangout haven thanks to its many stylish in-store haps. The opening marks the swell-driven brand's third Golden State store after its San Francisco and Venice locations.
Located next door to Pop Physique's first studio and not far from A.P.C.'s soon-to-open Eastside spot, the 1,500-square-foot shop is decked out with vintage rugs from the Rose Bowl Flea Market and unfinished wood furniture for an "airy, light, and refreshing" feel. On top of stocking its own in-house apparel line, the indie retailer also offers a host of USA-made labels, like women's clothing by SF-based Gravel & Gold, men's and women's clothing by LA's own Mowgli Surf and Brothers Marshall, accessories by Colorado-bred Topo Designs, and more. As far as surf and skate merch, expect to find boards, hand paddles, and more by by Hess, Anderson, Fineline, and other top-notch brands.
Mollusk Surf Shop is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 7pm and Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
