Inside Restoration Hardware's Massive New Home Decor Haven

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Luxe furnishings retailer Restoration Hardware's massive The Gallery store opened last month, and it's exactly the living, breathing, wander-inside-and-surrender-to-that-comfy-couch version of their encyclopedic source books that you'd expect. Located across from Urth Caffe and kitty-corner from Michael Stars's future home on Melrose Avenue, the massive home decor mecca is the retailer's first outpost to offer a dedicated space for its interior design services.

Clocking in at a grand total of 40,000 square feet, the three-story, open-air store houses Restoration Hardware's entire collection of furniture, linens, lighting, and decor, including its latest line of distressed leather seating. In addition to offering a fancy tea atelier by Bellocq, The Gallery features a Tuileries-inspired rooftop hangout—complete with ping-pong and pool tables—where shoppers and nearby lunchers are welcome to catch some shade and relax for an hour or two (or five). Explore more inside the space below and consider making that dreamy roof your office for the day (yep, there's free wi-fi, too).

Restoration Hardware The Gallery is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 7pm and Sunday from 11am to 6pm.
