From traveling the country in a cool Airstream to building boutiques out of shipping containers, LA-based label Aether knows how to stimulate the shopping senses of stylish adventure-goers. Now that they've conquered SF and New York, the outdoor apparel and accessories brand is returning to its roots with a massive activewear mecca on La Brea, which officially opened yesterday. As mentioned, Aether took over Shelter Half's former 4,000-square-foot space (where Aether popped up earlier this year); it'll replace that Melrose Avenue Outpost as its LA flagship.
Located next door to vintage haven What Goes Around Comes Around, the shop offers the brand's full range of functional and fashionable apparel for urbanites, mountaineers, and yogis alike, plus all sorts of hi-tech gadgetry and gear for surviving both the slopes and the streets (Ruby motorcycle helmets, electric skateboards by Boosted Boards, Salt sunglasses, more). In addition, the massive sportswear mecca also features spots to chill and be chilled—at the center of the shop is a walk-in freezer for testing out cold-weather gear or experiencing a polar vortex, if that's your scene.
Aether is open Monday through Saturday from 11am to 7pm and Sunday from 11am to 6pm.
