Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.
Gillian Mahin and Laura Hall have been BFFs since they were 12 years old. After spending some time working in Australia, LA drew them to the West Coast where the stylish duo started For Love & Lemons. The blogger-approved LA line is known of its irresistible lacy numbers and crazy-hot Skivvies. The girls also know how to throw one hell of a sexy party, to boot. Naturally, the designers love all things Aussie. When they're feeling nostalgic for the Land Down Under, they venture out of their dreamy studio to pay a visit to their favorite Aussie shop in Venice.
We love AUST. because it brings back memories from the time Laura and I lived in Sydney. After college Laura and I worked Down Under and fell in love with Aussie culture. In fact many customers think For Love & Lemons is an Australian brand. We heard about Hannah and Kristin from friends and we feel in love with their style and energy right off the bat. Their vibe is what took us to AUST. for the first time. Now we go back when we are feeling a little nostalgic or look for some inspiration.
