On October 16, our fourth annual Racked Awards gala celebration is taking place in NYC, where we'll toast our country's best and brightest retail stars. Instead of unveiling LA's winners on the day of the party like last year, this time around we'll announce one winner daily for the next ten days leading up the party.
While 2013 brought three major global retailers to LA—Isabel Marant, Céline and Acne Studios—this year was all about The Kooples. Given that we first caught wind of the It-girl favored French brand's West Coast interest all the way back in 2012, we've been feverishly stalking the progress of its debut Robertson digs, nearly losing hope when San Francisco scored their first-ever stateside store.
When The Kooples finally unveiled its 3,230-square-foot West Coast flagship back in July, we were pleased to see that every inch of it—from the imported Italian marble to the "Swinging London" and "Suedehead" themed racks for both men and women—was well worth the wait. Famous fans include Jessica Alba, Gia Coppola, Lady Gaga and the girls of Haim.
Bonus: LA will soon score a second Kooples boutique in Santa Monica!
