Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
DTLA sees its fair share of super cool pop-up shops, but this one, hitting the Ace Hotel on Sunday, October 26th, promises to be one of the more interesting.
Mandelbaum Booksellers, which recently relocated from NY to LA, will be setting up on the Ace Hotel rooftop this weekend from 11am to 6pm to offer shoppers a selection of hard-to-find books about fashion, art and pop culture.
The store is usually a by appointment outpost, but all day Sunday, people can stop by their Ace pop-up and peruse their amazing selection of contemporary art, photography and fashion books, including rare catalogs by Richard Prince and John Baldessari and art tomes from Andy Warhol, Bruce Weber, Araki, Richard Prince, and others. Zines and prints by artist Jason Polan, and ASHKAHN will also be available.
These books make great gifts, so think about getting your holiday shopping on a little early this year. You can always abide by the "one for me, one for you" rule.
