To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Paris-born jewelry designer Elodie Khayat got her start in the fashion biz working at BCBG for her uncle Max Azria. She later went on to launch her very own jewelry line, Elodie K. Earlier this year, Khayat brought some more of her Parisian style to LA when she opened her first chic boutique on Melrose Place, where you'll find her own designs alongside pieces by some of her favorite global brands. Just a few doors down from her shop, you can also find her favorite beauty store in the city. Here, she shares the many reasons why she loves it.
There are a few reasons why I love Violet Grey. One being the fact that they love Guy Bourdin. He's been an inspiration to me for quite some time and Violet Grey have developed a chic aesthetic that matches his vibe. They curate the boutique so beautifully and they are so specific with what they carry that when you walk in you know you're going to get the best of the best—from the perfect foundation to a beautiful bronzer.
