Full disclosure: The Hive is the new site I started with my business partner and VIP director at Jimmy Choo, Sara Riff and it just happens to be my Editor's Pick whilst Guest Editing Racked LA this week. Coincidence? Well…
We launched The Hive in February after realizing there was a dearth of digital destinations that encompassed style, beauty and all the chic and adorable things for new mothers and those planning a family. As two women and new mothers working in the fashion industry, we weren't inclined to begin perusing chat boards or completely switching up the stylish sites and online retailers we loved pre-baby. We wanted a site that looked like a fashion website, but included this new aspect of our lives, namely babies, work and the wonderful juggle that intensifies as both happen at once.
We have been lucky to include some amazing parents and parents-to-be on the site, tapping them for advice, styling tips and home tours. Recent features include a Cooking Class with Molly Sims, At Home with The Hive with stylist Jessica de Ruiter, Registry Essentials with Kourtney Kardashian, Mother's Day Nostalgia with Busy Philipps and January Jones and a nursery tour with Racked LA editor and gorgeous new mom, Natalie Alcala. Need to know where to send pics so your kid has a shot at becoming a GAP model? Or the best sunglasses of the season for hiding tired eyes? Yup, we've got all that kind of info too.
Creating the site and being inspired by established ones, namely Racked and friends, has been a rewarding task and definitely taught us both a lot about balance, building websites and how trying to do both while sleep training a child is nearly impossible, but ultimately makes for a great story.
We hope you enjoy.
