Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
From the insanely stylish Ace Hotel to the upcoming Zara at FIGat7th, Downtown is totally on fire. Racked pal Brigham Yen brings even more exciting DTLA news: the historic Olympic Theater is now up for grabs on the very booming Broadway district. Because it's Friday, we thought we'd have some fun and nominate eight possible occupants for the new space.
We've got insider picks like LA's Band of Outsiders, Aussie denim brand Sass & Bide, NYC cool kid (and Balenciaga head honcho) Alexander Wang and Isabel Marant beau Jérôme Dreyfuss, all of whom have yet to land a standalone shop in the City of Angels. Then there's Nasty Gal, whose massive HQ would be just an imaginary streetcar stop away.
Also on the ballot is Uniqlo, whom we're impatiently waiting to put the moves us. Of course, we had to throw in fast fashion mega-chain Forever 21, since H&M and Zara have already jumped on the DTLA train. Update: This poll is now closed. So, who has your vote? You have 48 hours to make your pick.
