Although Whittier has been making waves with its real estate and culinary efforts, the city's retail offerings leave much to be desired. But that's all going to change now, thanks to Uptown Whittier's newest and coolest opening, Local Fixture.
Founded by David and Jason Chung late last year, the store has been quietly killing it in the area for its rad selection of specialty dry goods and fine gifts. Brands in the mix include Filson, Will Leather Goods, Malin + Goetz, Baxter of California, Butter London, LAFCO, Barr Co. Richer Poorer and Hammerpress. David tells us that he's inspired by the eateries who "sparked the renaissance that's currently taking place here. Uptown Whittier is evolving at a fast clip and it's really fun to be a part of the process."
Local Fixture is open Monday from 11am to 6pm, Tuesday through Thursday from 11am to 8pm and Friday through Saturday from 11am to 9:30pm. Bonus: They also serve free Stumptown coffee to all visitors!
