Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
While LA certainly has enough exciting retailers to keep our credit cards quivering, it never hurts to venture out on a good old shopping road trip. We're particularly fond of off-the-gride outlets, such as Citadel, Camarillo and Desert Hills. If we ever find ourselves en route to Bakersfield (a detour before Vegas, perhaps?), we'll soon have a new I-5 pitstop, thanks to The Outlets at Tejon Ranch.
Slated to open this August, the 320,000-square foot "upscale value retail destination" was developed by Tejon Ranch Co. and The Rockefeller Group. The space promises to house more than 70 stores, include a 22,000-square-foot H&M. The brand tells us that this store will "include full-priced collections for lingerie, accessories, maternity and it's plus-size line H&M+" and "a children's collection with clothing for newborns to 14 years."
Per Tejon's website, additional occupants include Banana Republic, Aeropostale, Gap, Coach and Hot Topic.
