Looks like someone's been drinking the haterade. In honor of StyleCaster's annual "50 Most Stylish New Yorkers" list, 2013 inductee Courtney Love sat down with the fashion news blog to talk about her storied style choices and apparent issues with Los Angeles.

The iconic rocker who once penned a love song to Malibu claimed that her former place of residence (she moved to New York in 2009) lacks both tolerance and style. On the subject of diets, she explains: "I've been back and forth from L.A. a lot and you cannot be fat in L.A.—forget it. [In New York], they'll forgive you, but not in L.A."

There's more. Although she credits our city for linking her with cult-favorite fashion designer Rick Owens back in 1996 ("I was his first client ever. I was on Hollywood and Vine and I saw this man in the window and he was working and he had big muscles."), she claims that Angelenos don't know how to experiment with style. "You can wear whatever you want in New York, I suppose you can wear Forever 21 if you were inclined. In L.A., it's people just don't get it right really."

Ouch. Well, we know two prominent people who might not agree with Love's loathe of the West Coast: her daughter Frances Bean Cobain who was born here and lives in the Hills, and Coachella lover/"California grunge" supporter Hedi Slimane. Given that the Saint Laurent designer lensed Love for the fashion house's fall 2013 campaign, we wonder if they've discussed their coastal differences.
